This appears to be a Citroën Mehari, presumably from some time in the early 1970s.
When I first saw this a few months ago near Place Brugman, I had thought it was a "Thing", which was one of the very first cars my father ever pointed out to me as being very cool. A few hours researching on the 'net, and I now know that the "Thing" was made by VW and not Citroën, and the "Thing" is otherwise known as the Kübelwagen, Mehrzweckwagen, or just Type 181.
I don't know much about the Mehari. The best pages I've found so far are at http://www.theseend.net/citroen/pic_mehari.php, http://users.skynet.be/sky38711/allfiles/garfiles/mehari.htm, http://www.citroen.mb.ca/citroenet/html/m/mehari.html, and http://www.geocities.com/meharidude/index2.htm.
This picture was taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5700 camera, and converted to greyscale by Photoshop 7 on an Apple PowerBook G3/400 running MacOS X 10.3.6. I had tried to apply color correction, but the extreme yellow cast from the sodium-vapor street lights they use around here at night was just so bad that I couldn't save it.
Compare with the series 51qn0012-51qn0015, which were taken with a Sony Ericsson P900 just a few minutes later.
